These qualities, interwoven with a steadfast mindset, have propelled me forward and enabled me to navigate the complexities of personal and professional arenas.

Courage, to me, has always been about stepping into the unknown with unwavering faith in one’s vision. Whether it was launching a startup in the nascent days of artificial intelligence or venturing into the creative realms of film production, courage was the catalyst that transformed ideas into reality. I vividly recall the early 1970s when I began producing documentaries, Petijohn Report to the OIC and Four Portraits. These projects were uncharted territories, blending storytelling with fundraising for the Retina Foundation. The fear of failure was palpable, yet the belief in the impact these films could achieve fueled my determination.
Courage isn't the absence of fear but the decision that something else is more important. In every venture, there were moments of doubt and uncertainty. However, embracing these challenges head-on allowed me to push boundaries and explore possibilities others might have deemed impossible.

Resilience is the armor that protects us from the inevitable setbacks that accompany any ambitious endeavor. I’ve witnessed firsthand how swiftly fortunes can change in the ever-evolving tech landscape.
